HUGO FALTER, CO-FOUNDER & CO-CHAIRMAN OF THE SUPERVISORY BOARD

Hugo Falter is Co-Founder of ParTec AG and managed the Spin-Off from the Technical University of Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology/KIT) in 1999. 

He served as Co-CEO and COO from 2016 to 2024 and now acts as Co-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ParTec AG. He actively shaped the transformation of High Performance Computing from early Cluster Architectures to today’s Exascale and Modular HPC-AI-Quantum supercomputers.

In 2005 he established the ParaStation consortium with ParTec and the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) to foster public-private partnerships between supercomputing center and private industries.

As a founding member of ETP4HPC, the European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing in 2012, he has contributed to defining Europe’s strategic HPC roadmap. In 2017 he negotiated the partnership between the European cooperative EOFS SCE and the US-based company OpenSFS to create a joint platform for Parallel File Systems for HPC. In 2018 he became a member of RIAG, the Research and Innovation Advisory Group of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. 

Through these roles, Mr. Falter played an active part in shaping Europe’s technological sovereignty and contributed to the establishment of European supercomputers.
