At ParTec AG, we design, build, and support purpose-built heterogeneous supercomputer solutions for science using our modular supercomputing architecture approach.

As a hardware-agnostic system provider, we work closely with leading technology vendors in the field. For building some of the largest and most complex supercomputers in Europe, we integrate a broad range of products and compute technologies of different origin and maturity level into total system solutions using our ParaStation Modulo software suite.

IT Support Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and committed IT Support and Client Infrastructure Specialist to join our IT team in Munich. In this role, you will oversee the meticulous administration of a varied client environment. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering expert IT support to our team members, whether onsite or remotely, while actively shaping the evolution and refinement of our IT system landscape. Your proficiency and unwavering commitment are pivotal to ensuring seamless operations and advancing our IT infrastructure continuously.

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a diverse client environment.
  • Provide comprehensive user support for hardware and software, both on-site in Munich and surrounding areas, and remotely.
  • Handle IT procurement, hardware and software provisioning, and maintain inventory.
  • Contribute to the expansion and development of the IT system landscape and participate in IT projects.

Required skills and experience

  • Profound knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 products, including Office applications.
  • Experience with various device classes and operating systems (Linux, MacOS, Android, iOS).
  • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting common peripheral hardware.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and applications.
  • Familiarity with standard information security practices.
  • Strong service-oriented mindset with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Capability to effectively engage with users of varying IT competencies.

Desirable skills

  • Experience in MS 365 administration.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Networks.

Job conditions

  • Proficiency in German and English (written & spoken) is mandatory.
  • Valid Class B driver’s license required.
  • Office location is in Munich.
  • Remote work options available.
